Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA®)
Making better use of medical information has huge potential for lowering costs and improving quality–the patient’s safety and the health care business depend on it–and AHIMA’s Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) credential holders have the power to spearhead these efforts. Oversight by professionals with the proper tools and knowledge to look at the “bigger picture” of healthcare data analytics is a must. These are the same tools and knowledge an HIM professional gains when earning AHIMA’s CHDA credential.
- Formulate validation strategies and methods (i.e., system edits, reports, and audits) to ensureaccurate and reliable data.
- Integrate and interpret data from internal or external sources in order to provide analysis and/or reporting for clinical, financial, and operational processes.
- Validate results through qualitative and quantitative analyses to confirm findings and provide recommendations based on analytical results to improve business processes or outcomes.
